Plumbing work order template

A plumbing report should say which fixture, which side, and whether the water is back on. “Fixed leak” is how callbacks start.

Name the fixture, not the room only

“Hall bath, lavatory, cold supply” tells the next person where to look. Put that in the service title and repeat it in the work performed notes. If you closed a shutoff and left it closed, say so in the diagnosis and again in recommendations. If you reopened it, say that too.

Parts the customer can recognize

  • Supply line, cartridge, fill valve, wax ring, or angle stop, with a size when you know it.
  • Labor as its own line when the trip is time-and-materials, so the part price is not hiding the hours.
  • A photo before you dry the cabinet, and a photo after the joint is made, with captions.
  • Access limits in recommendations: “Vanity is caulked to the tile; I did not pull it.”

What not to leave ambiguous

If you found an older leak that you did not repair, put it in recommendations with the location. If the customer declined that work, write “declined” next to it. The acknowledgement checkbox is the customer’s confirmation of the work described, not a warranty. Your warranty terms, if you offer any, belong in the recommendations in your own words.
